riverracerParticipant@ Stefan, have you had any results from this approach? if i load this firmware, can i got back to original if needed?
my 2.1.9(3) HV 3.2-AC looses connectivity to the browser/internet once a week (max twice), but connects again straight away if i power off and on again.
the “about page” shows fair/good signal strength, and when it’s connected the unit work flawlessly, just annoying that it wont stay connected.have been thinking of ways to use a unused station, relays/timers and program a time to cut the power and reboot automatically, somehow….
riverracerParticipantwell that all programming just went over my head, I’ve never flashed boards like this before, never played with Rpi’s or Arduino’s etc. (unless you have detailed instruction/pictures for windows).
I do have the latest unit, bought it in Dec ’19. I thought it was only the wifi chip, didn’t realize that was the main processor as well.
Guess i’ll just leave it alone and put up with poor wifi reception, or re-run all the wiring and shift it some where else away from their shed..
thanks
riverracerParticipantthanks for the chip information.
my chip turned up today, way smaller than i thought it would be… will get a tech from work to replace it for me, my eyesight is not up to soldering things that small.
after it’s swapped over and an antenna connected, is there any thing else that needs to be done or is it good to go?i think my signal problem is due to my next door neighbor having just build a large steel shed near where i have my controller mounted and it’s interfering with the router wifi signal.
riverracerParticipanti have a OS3.0 Ac all mounted and wired up, the location was checked for signal before i ran the main power cables down thru the double brick wall, a location that has worked well for last few months, but lately the wifi has been bit his n miss, dropping out, won’t connect etc, have tried changing the main wifi channel etc, but no change.
not a big fan of wifi extenders, so i am interested in the top WiFi chip with external antenna connection you mentioned, are we talking about the “ESP8266 ESP-07S” board?
as i’m in Australia, can i please get a correct part number so i can try and source local?
thanks

have tried to follow this page
https://support.netcommwireless.com/sites/default/files/NF18ACV-Port-Forwarding-Setup-Guide.pdfand the video from OpenSprinkler

riverracerParticipanti think i got outside access to work, just had to put “:8080” on end of the computer ip address.
riverracerParticipanttried to add a couple of links above
Netcomm NF18ACV
riverracerParticipanthave just given AussieBB a ring and had it turned off.
still no idea how to get it to work thru router, have followed supports port forwarding video etc.i’m a mechanical person, not an IT type person.
riverracerParticipanthave also set up a static IP
riverracerParticipantHave got the basics working great with home wifi and mobile on wifi,
but i cannot get port forwarding to work for external access from another computer or 4g mobile phone.
have read the info and watched the video on this site, but no go.
Netcomm Wireless 18AVC router on Aussie Broadband.
riverracerParticipantordered my OS3 from the US last week, shipped Friday, got a txt that it arrived Sunday arvo in Melbourne customs.
thought it would take till end next week/new year to get delivered to Adelaide
i was wrong, it turned up just now, Tuesday morn, the day before xmas, great service.
now to have a play with the setup, guess i’ll have to go put some pop ups in the lawn now….
riverracerParticipantthanks, that’s what i wanted to hear, i’m in Findon, so i’ll look into setting up with the ETo adjustment when it arrives.
