Sorry. Freshly downloaded version still loses settings every second start.

Sure, I’ll test it from home if you update the download.

Ok. So, it isn’t intermittent. . .it loses settings every second start. . .tried it 10+ times. . .and every second start it loses settings. . .

Btw, it has happened to me with DMG version as well, but I have tried to see if it is every time yet.

I think we are getting back to the concept of the OS being able to work on its own without the requirement of other outside tools/configuration. Though I may need to setup a SNMP for other tasks, it doesn’t seem like that should be a requirement for any users that want easy historical access to their complete logs. Being able to have the logs proactively sent to you automatically (as an attached email), would be a better end result that would work for most individuals.

Yes, it does seem it should be in the firmware. . .in the GUI, it could only run if you logged in and remained connected. Maybe in an app/program (like the OSX version). . .but ideally, it would be great if the OS(!PI) could send emails itself.

Yes. I have no problem understanding the logic and in some ways the benefits, but maybe that should be handled by the firmware, not the user. In my perspective, the user should be able to say I want it to run 6 hours. . .and it runs 6 hours. . .even if the firmware is restarting the cycle every 3 hours. I just don’t think the user should need to program around the limitation. I understand this is about conserving memory usage, I am just speaking up for keeping the complexity out of the user’s world.

: Yes, I agree, it would be nice to log and alert about such things as failures, but not sure if that is feasible. Ideally, I would like to be able to automatically ship my logs to another device for long term access and storage (OS(nonPI) doesn’t allow accessing more than week at a time).

In my case, the 3 hours you would allow works for that I need now. . .it does seem to make things more complicated for things over 196 minutes. Being forced to do cycles to accomplish a desired water time over 3 hours doesn’t seem like the most user-friendly choice. Like I said, at this point, I won’t run into problems, but just my observation.

Ray, I am not sure what all is changing to accomplish this, but will it still be possible to set programs to run all stations for equal times like they are now? Or will these enhancements you are making replace the current options and require us to reconfigure our current jobs?

I know that I have some stations that I can’t run at the same time as each other (whole lawn zones and I have some stations I need to run at the same time as others (individual garden beds). Because sequential is either on/off per controller, it is hard to accomplish this goal without creating many schedules and manually making sure these tasks don’t overlap. I am hoping these enhancements you are working on will allow me to set this on a per schedule level. . .then I can have one schedule for lawn zones, which will run sequentially, and another schedule for all the garden zones to run at the same time.

    Thanks again!

Where in the files do we look to figure out what version we just downloaded?

Maybe you can at least note in the guide that it will point to the latest.

I don’t have a use case, so it doesn’t matter to me.

Or have a spinner/drop down with unit choice and only one box for numbers.

Longest run time currently is 3 hours. I do have cycles that run all day long…like15 minutes running every 4 hours 1am until midnight.

I never use seconds. Minutes and hours only.

So far since restoring again on 1.2.0 on osx it hasn’t happened again. Ie, programs haven’t disappeared.

I didn’t try direct web before restoring from osx. Both iOS app and osx app missing programs. No logs during that time. Errant errors. Password has not be changed since setup osx app.

Btw, after trying to disable a program with osx last night and getting password errors, I restarted the osx client app and found programs missing there as well. Restored to get them back, but what killed them?
