I guess i found the answer in the newer manual.

    2.1.1 only supports 14 programs.

Why is that limit set?  Can it be raised?

I have a question about the new sunrise/sunset feature.

If I want to use this for lighting i see how I can start the turn it on at sunset.  But how to I program it to turn off at sunrise?

I see the revised ui when accessing it via a browser.

How to you get the new ui within the android app?

I’ve only used one other sprinkler controller, a rainbird esp xxx.  It had 4 different sections for programming (ABCD).

It used the queuing behavior.     If you stopped a running station the next one started immediately, and it made sense to do so whenever i did it.  And the same zone could be queued and was waiting if it was set up in two or more of the ABCD sections.

you could add an on/off option in the stations “allow duplicate queuing”.  If yes the station could be queued  again, if not and it was already in the queue it would be ignored.  IMO the program should default to allow duplicate queuing.

So it might still make sense to do the virtual stations for what Sean is trying to do.

I guess for the lighting you would want the virtual station to run regardless of what any other stations are doing.

Might be complicated but I guess you could define what a “virtual station” is in stations, i.e. lighting, or water and lighting will run its scheduled time simultaneously regardless of what the water stations are doing (running sequentially).

I did the initial post to this thread, i see some of the issues of sequential previews being viewed as simultaneous was resolved.

I just upgraded to 2.1.3 and have a new issue.

The same programs shows the first item in the preview repeating even though it is not set to repeat.

Note the first zone to run at midnight is the “goat rotor” in the “goat zone” program.  It appears in the preview running again after the next zone in the same program.   But it is not set to repeat.

I’ve attached a picture of the preview as well and below is the json:

Disregard this, i figured it out.  I was clicking on sunrise and sunset, there was no button that said time, i didn’t realize until now that i could turn both sunrise and sunset off to revert it back to time (maybe add a message on that screen or an “Off” or “Time” button  for idiots like me?).

How do i turn this on and off?  I noticed that it appeared all of a sudden in a program, but i could not figure out how to get it back to regular time.

How long do you think it will take to fix this issue?

Does this kind of change require a firmware update or can it be done in the UI software?

I’m using a 2.1 OS with 4 boards (3 extra, actually using a 16 and and 8 in addition to the unit).

I’m attaching the program backup to perhaps help take less time to produce the error.

Attached is an image of the current status and program preview of the controller running.

According to current status, it appears the zones are correctly lining up and not starting simultaneously.

However the program preview is not displaying this correctly.

    I ran into this issue.

do you have more than one unit on your network (maybe the new 2.1 and an older one)?

They all have the same mac address so they collide if they have more than one.  You can set the device id under options;advanced to another number from the first unit and restart, that solves the mac address conflict.
